Weekend Update with JP
Hey Everyone and welcome to the Weekend Update with JP! 😊
I hope your weekend is going fantastic! Colorado has been nice and sunny.
My heart, love, and prayers go out to those down in Texas and all those affected by Hurricane Harvey!
I have pretty much been closeted with my bipolar illness since 1999.
After I was first diagnosed, I told many of my friends. To my sadness, a number decided they did not want to be friends with someone suffering from a mental illness. Do not get me wrong, many stayed by my side, but a number decided to drop out of my life.
Back in April of this year (2017), I decided to open up. I emerged from the darkness and began to share my story and life in hopes of helping others suffering from this same debilitating illness. The reaction of others is no longer a concern of mine. In fact, the positive response has been amazing!
To my excitement, many of my friends and strangers have accepted me as I am, completely and whole. One of my friends even asked me why I did not tell her back in college when I was diagnosed. I told her how I scared I was of losing her as a friend. I can tell her genuine acceptance and love. This makes me so happy!
I knew it was inevitable, but I learned after posting on my social media accounts that a number did “unfriend” me after disclosing my bipolar disorder condition. You know what? I could care less. It is so liberating to feel so enlightened to share with you all.
I used to be such a people pleaser. I am all about educating, acceptance, and love!
Pumped and excited is how I am right now! I am happy to announce that I will be on the radio November 9th of this year. As the date draws closer, I will provide you with details where you can listen to the conversation online or on the radio! I cannot wait to share my ideas!
Wish me luck! 😊
Each time I write my Weekend Update, I feel that the vision for my blog changes. I have a primary sense of where I want to go, but the journey has morphed a number of times.
My focus is to provide you rich and educational content Monday and Thursday of each week like I am doing now. I try to promote these posts on all of my social media accounts to increase the number of people reading.
Originally, I was creating an eBook to launch at the beginning of the coming year, but I also began to create an online course about bipolar disorder. I am still in creation mode and hoping to release it in January along with a few other exciting projects going on. Stay tuned!
I did create a five-day email course entitled “Bipolar Bootcamp”. I would love for you to check it out if you have not yet. Click HERE if you would like more information about my Bipolar Bootcamp.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my blog. I really do mean that! Without your support, I would not be able to get The Bipolar Battle off the ground the way I have.
If you ever have any questions, concerns, or ideas, please e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Until next time, take care of yourself! 😊
