The Blogger Recognition Award

Thank you so much to Sonal Gupte from Sachisha, for nominating me for the BLOGGER RECOGNITION AWARD!!  This is my second award in less than a week and I am more than humbled and honored to accept it.

In Sonal’s own words, she writes “My aim is to ‘Destigmatize chronic illness’ and spread awareness!!”. Keep up the great work, Sonal! I like to think we are warriors in this battle together!

Rules for The Blogger Recognition Award:

Give a brief story how your blog started:

My story is not that complicated or long. I was diagnosed back in 1999 with Bipolar Disorder, type one. For years I did not let anyone know that I had Bipolar Disorder. You could say that I was ashamed.  I have been a proactive patient since day 1.  I know this is a chronic illness and something I will deal with for the rest of my life.

This year (April 2017), I found an online class on how to create your own blog. I felt this was the perfect opportunity to come out of the shadows and share my experience with the world!

Give two pieces of advice to new bloggers:

Maintain a posting schedule that you can adhere to. Stick to it and you will reap the benefits with traffic to your site. Sometimes it takes a while, but it is well worth it.

Try to make the technical stuff as easy as you can. If it is too difficult for you, I would suggest outsourcing this part. It can be rather time-consuming when you are starting, but like anything else, there is just a learning curve.

I have gone ahead and listed the nominees for The Blogger Recognition Award.  Each of these blogs is unique and completely deserving of this prestigious award.  I hope you will take the time to click each one and tour them individually.

  1. Thank you so much, John, for this award! 🙂
    I’m honored!!!!

My blog has a different title than the Proudly Bipolar URL address – it’s called “Birth of a New Brain – Healing from Postpartum Bipolar Disorder” which is the same title as my forthcoming book. (Post Hill Press, Oct. 10th – very exciting!) I need to change the URL but as easy as I’ve been told that is to do, I’m lazy! 😉

I’d like to ask you a huge favor – I’m getting my two little girls ready to start school (as a Dad you get that) and I need to start working on 2 new freelance jobs. As a result, I’m overextended and I don’t have time to complete the award requirements. Could you please pass my award on to another blogger? (If you want, LOL!)

I truly appreciate your kindness and wish you the absolute best!!!

    Warmly,

    Dyane

    1. Dyane, I can definitely do that! I totally understand the situation you are in. That is so exciting about your book! I’ll have to keep October 10th in mind and not forget. 🙂 You take care and I am glad I found you! Good luck with everything! 🙂

  2. John, I just left a long comment and it got wiped out when I posted it. 🙁 I want to thank you so much for nominating my blog “Birth of a New Brain – Healing from Postpartum Bipolar Disorder” (www.proudlybipolar.wordpress.com)

I have too much going on with the girls getting ready for school & work to properly do the award requirements, so you have my blessing to bestow the award upon another blog, but thank you again – it was great to wake up and see your sweet tweet about the nomination – I’m honored.

    All my best,

    Dyane

    Take care,

    Take care,

    1. Dyane, SO sorry I named your blog wrong. I feel bad that I did that as I know our blog is our baby! I totally understand where you are at and try to keep in touch when you can. I really would like to get your book! Take care of yourself and good luck with your crazy schedule! 🙂

      1. No worries, John! It’s all good! If you hop over to Twitter and DM me your email address, I’d be glad to send you a PDF of the advanced review copy of the book. All I ask is that if you like it, tell anyone else you think might enjoy it. :)))
