ABOUT ME

Hey there!

Welcome to The Bipolar Battle.  😊

My name is John Poehler!

I created this Website to empower those afflicted with bipolar disorder to live the lives that they deserve.  Follow me and I’ll provide you innovative information and products and services related to conquering this illness.  Have a look around and join The Bipolar Battle Community by signing up for my free eBook or join The Bipolar Bootcamp.

First things first.  I’m not a medical professional and I don’t pretend to be.  I never went to medical school and I don’t have an MD after my name.  However, I was diagnosed with Bipolar type 1, back in 1999.  I was just a couple of months shy of my 21st birthday.  This MORE than qualifies me to teach you the information I have up there in my brain.  I call myself an expert in my disease.  I know this illness like a best friend or my worst enemy?  They are both there all the time and I’ve learned to live with them by my side.  I know firsthand what it can do to myself as a patient, along with my friends, family, and those around me.  I’m using my personal experience to educate, to make suggestions, give ideas and create a dialogue within the online community.  I used to just cope, but now I’m thriving.

Academically, I graduated from Colorado State University in 2003, with a B.S. in Natural Sciences and minors in both Math and Chemistry.  I finished my diploma in Personal Training and Sports Nutrition from the National Personal Training Institute (NPTI) back in 2007.  In 2009, I earned my Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) designation.  From 2010 to 2011 I took a few graduate level classes in Accounting.  I completed my Associates Degree in Accounting and Certificate in Computer Specialist, in May of 2014.

I tell you this because I do have some education to back up my claims.  Some of the education is relevant and some of it is not.

For years, I had a hard time with the 8-5 standard daily work schedule.  With all those degrees behind my name, I felt crappy.  I’ll explore this more in my blog, but I finally realized I was not built for that lifestyle.  I found something different and have not looked back.

Again, thank-you for stopping by and please sign-up for my free eBook or join The Bipolar Bootcamp so we can stay in touch!  You can listen more about my journey below my picture.
